2026 Business Trends Every Service Business Should
My 2026 Business Predictions: What I Think Service-Based Business Owners Should Prepare For
If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I spend a lot of time looking at patterns.
Not trends for the sake of trends. Actual shifts in how business owners behave, what clients are buying and how people are choosing to build businesses that fit around real life.
Sometimes those observations turn into predictions.
Last year, I had a feeling that live launches and challenge-style marketing would make a comeback. At the time, hardly anyone was doing them. Then, slowly but surely, I started seeing them everywhere.
It got me thinking.
What else is changing?
As we're halfway through 2026, I wanted to share the biggest shifts I believe we'll continue to see over the rest of the year.
These aren't based on hype.
They're based on conversations with clients, what I'm seeing across the industry, what's changing in my own business, and the patterns I can't ignore anymore.
If you're a coach, consultant, freelancer or service-based business owner, these predictions will help you think ahead rather than simply react.
Prediction 1: Purpose Will Continue to Overtake Profit
One of the biggest shifts I can see is that more business owners are becoming driven by impact rather than income.
That's not to say money isn't important.
We all need to make a living, pay the bills and build sustainable businesses.
But I think people are asking themselves different questions now.
Instead of asking 'How can I make more money?'
They're asking 'How can I make more difference?'
For many people, the legacy they're creating is becoming just as important as the revenue they're generating.
I've experienced this shift myself.
Some of the goals I used to chase weren't actually about money at all.
I wanted more evenings with my family.
I wanted Friday movie nights.
I wanted weekends that didn't revolve around work.
None of those things required another five-figure launch.
They required better choices.
I think more business owners are reaching the same conclusion.
Why I Believe We'll See More CICs and Community Projects
Because purpose is becoming more important, I believe we'll continue to see more:
Community groups
Charities
Social impact groups
Purpose-led businesses
People still want to earn money.
But they also want to solve problems that genuinely matter to them.
For some, creating a CIC or charity allows them to combine both.
It's a way of generating income while creating meaningful community impact and accessing funding opportunities that support social change.
That's exactly why I'm currently creating a community project alongsideSocial Success Circle.
I want to create spaces where business owners don't just network.
They learn.
They collaborate.
And together they make meaningful change inside their businesses.
The Challenge That Comes With Growth
The downside?
If more organisations move into this space, competition for funding is likely to increase.
There are already thousands of grants and funding opportunities available across the UK, but many remain relatively unknown.
As awareness grows, more people will apply.
Which naturally means:
More competition
Longer waiting times
Tougher application processes
Greater need to clearly demonstrate impact
We've already seen similar patterns happen with other government support schemes.
When awareness increases, demand follows.
Prediction 2: More Coaches Will Move Into Done-For-You Services
This one might be controversial.
I believe we'll continue to see coaches stepping away from traditional coaching.
Not because coaching has no value.
Far from it.
But because many business owners are becoming frustrated by an industry that often feels full of unrealistic promises and smoke and mirrors.
When authenticity matters, people eventually get tired of pretending.
Some will leave the industry altogether.
Others will simply evolve.
Knowledge Isn't Going Anywhere
The experience they've built still has value.
Instead of coaching people through the process, I think many experts will start doing more of the work themselves.
That could include:
Systems setup
Email marketing implementation
Website support
Business planning
CRM builds
Automation
Operations support
The expertise doesn't disappear.
The delivery model changes.
Done-for-you services help clients get results faster while allowing experts to lean into what they're genuinely brilliant at.
For many businesses, that makes complete sense.
Clients Want Simplicity
Business owners are busier than ever.
Many aren't looking for another course.
They're looking for someone they trust to help them move faster.
That's why I believe implementation services will continue to grow alongside coaching rather than replace it entirely.
The businesses that combine strategy with practical execution are likely to stand out.
Prediction 3: Businesses Will Be Built Around Capacity Instead of Expectations
This is probably the prediction I feel strongest about.
For years, many business owners have tried to squeeze themselves into someone else's version of success.
Work longer.
Launch more.
Create more offers.
Be available all the time.
Keep scaling.
Eventually, that becomes exhausting.
I think we're reaching a point where more people are simply saying 'This isn't how I want to run my business.'
And honestly, I think that's a good thing.
More Business Owners Will Stop Apologising for How They Work
I believe more people will start designing businesses around their actual capacity.
Particularly those who:
Are neurodivergent
Live with disabilities
Have caring responsibilities
Balance business alongside family life
Rather than apologising for needing boundaries, they'll make those boundaries part of the business model.
That might mean:
Fewer clients
Smaller launches
Clearer availability
Longer lead times
Premium pricing that reflects capacity
Instead of hiding how they work, they'll own it.
And clients who value that will stay.
Focus Will Beat More Offers
This has been one of my biggest lessons recently.
For a long time, I was creating new ideas constantly.
It wasn't sustainable.
This year, I've intentionally kept my offers focused.
Rather than continually creating something new, I've chosen to refine what already exists.
Because every new offer needs:
New systems
New marketing
New sales pages
New emails
New automations
New delivery
That's a lot of work.
The more focused you become, the easier it is to improve, market and sell what you already have.
As I always say:Fortune is in the focus.
And I genuinely believe that's where more businesses are heading.

What This Means for Your Business
Whether these predictions all happen exactly as I've described isn't really the point.
The important part is paying attention to where business is heading instead of where it's been.
Markets evolve.
Customer expectations evolve.
Business owners evolve.
The businesses that continue to grow aren't usually the ones chasing every shiny new strategy. They're the ones willing to adapt while staying true to what actually matters.
Looking across these predictions, there's one clear theme.
People are craving businesses that feel more human.
They're looking for businesses that are built around purpose, genuine expertise and realistic ways of working.
I don't think we're moving into an era where working smarter, staying focused and building around your strengths becomes the competitive advantage.
If there's one thing I'd encourage you to do over the rest of 2026, it's this.
Ask yourself:
Is my business built around someone else's expectations?
Or is it built around the life I actually want to live?
Because those are two very different businesses.
And only one of them is sustainable long term.

My Final Thoughts
Nobody knows exactly what the future holds.
These are predictions, not guarantees.
But paying attention to patterns is one of the best ways to stay ahead in business.
For me, the biggest pattern isn't about a particular marketing strategy or social media platform.
It's that business owners are becoming more intentional.
They're choosing businesses that support their lives instead of consuming them.
They're simplifying.
They're focusing.
They're building around capacity instead of constantly chasing more.
And honestly, I think that's a shift worth paying attention to.
